I was reciting Surah Kahaf and Ayah 95 stopped me.
This ayah redefined leadership skills for me.
Allah tells us the story of Dhul-Qarnayn.
A righteous servant.
Allah says: “Surely, We gave him power on earth and gave him means to achieve everything.” (18:84)
He had authority.
Resources.
Capability.
Then he reached a people who could barely understand speech.
They were suffering from Gog and Magog.
They offered him payment in return for protection.
But his reply was remarkable.
“The power my Lord has given me is better than any tribute. But if you lend me your strength, I will build a barrier between you and them.” (18:95)
He didn’t chase their money.
He acknowledged what Allah had already given him.
He focused on contribution.
He asked for their cooperation.
From these ayah (83–95), I reflected on this:
He was content with what he had.
He used his means for service.
He kept traveling, searching where he could add value.
I’m not adding anything from myself.
Just read the ayah.
You’ll see it clearly.
Leadership is this.
Saying Alhamdulillah.
Using what Allah gave you.
Seeking help when needed.
Continuously looking for where you can contribute.
What did you learn from these ayah?
